Vikings dominate! At least in numbers and spirit:-)
In exciting news, Frances has taken out Stage 1 of Women's C grade in a sprint finish, with the rest of the Vikings team performing very well. Frances also leads the KOM, after her and one other took off up Tawaonga Gap together. A break of 12 formed initially after Rosewhite Gap with the VIkings controlling the group with a strong paceline. Superstar Sue also collected some sprint points along the way.
Vikings are also a large force in Men's C grade, setting the tempo for much of the race, took some sprint points with Bossie, KOM points with Mike D, and Andrew L finishing 6th overall and just 14 seconds down. Mike finished a close 17th and Simon D in 21st place.
Super domestiques Ben, Jamie and Dan destroyed the bunch at various stages of the race doing a great effort for the team.
Stay tuned for more updates. The ITT is next up this afternoon.

Come home guys - the forum is so boring without you!
It was great riding with the WC bunch - with vikings/CCC mob up front and very visible! We had another good day today, everything going to plan to the bottom of the climb. Unfortunately Francis dropped her chain right at the start of the climb and took a little longer than she probably would have liked to get rolling again. Gave the girls a good 500m start up the mountain but managed to get back to them (I was no help having burnt most of my matches in the sprints). So Francis ended up third on GC but i reckon it would be pretty tough to have to chase first up on a climb like that. Fantastic effort also to Lyn, Erica and Emily who were up there adn Shridevi wasn't that far behind. I had a tough day after trying some gels that didn't agree with me.... but managed to drag myself to the finish line and happy to have managed the sprinters jersey and a decent ITT effort yesterday.

well looking at the results for Masters 6+ the winner was 13minutes faster than MC winner!!!
Great work by all those that entered and started! There seemed to be a lot of DNS's. Maybe it was the leftovers from Movember that did it?

Masters 6+ do the shorter 79km Stage 1 rather than the 105km (107.9km by speedo) Stage that B, C, M1/2/4 and M4/5 do.
