Vikings Road Race - Sunday 29/11

Come & join us for the last road race of November. A familiar ride to most, we will be starting at SFP & heading out to Uriarra Homestead & back, around a 40km loop.

See here for course map http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/359040

Racing begins at 9am & rego is open from 8.15am. All grades will be catered for & bunches will be heading off at 9am sharp. Don't forget to hang around at the end to re-fuel (drinks & snacks provided courtesy of the Vikings club) & catch up with other riders.

Race entry is the standard $5, please bring correct change. For safety reasons a current CA license necessary, with day & 3 ride licenses available on the day (allow time to complete paperwork).

Please park in SFP carpark to keep the roads clear. Bunches will roll away from the SFP entrance road but be neutral until turning onto Uriarra Rd where the racing will begin.

Hope to see you there :)

Thanks to the marshals; Meredith Hutchinson, John Henderson, Andrew Lake (or replacement) & Simon Neimeyer (or replacement). Let us know if you want to be a'replacement' this Sunday!

I've got to go to Sydney and do the pursuit schedule for the Albinator next weekend -- as well as race the Clarence St cup. So it's kind of an official club duty. Club Prez has indicated that he could marshall for me, but I'm sure he'd prefer to race. So if there's anyone who is willing to step in I'd be very grateful. There'll be a big thanks, a promise to cover for you for marshalling next time and a coffee on Friday morning for you.

Cheers

SimonN

Yes that's the plan - 1 lap for all grades. If juniors attend will set up a short course & rope in a parent to help marshal that turn.

The pointscore has also started (first event was the ITT). Now that the bane of the last few weeks looks like it will finish this week, I will be able to post up the points shortly.

Update - due to popular demand A & B grade will now be doing 2 laps of the course (~80km). All other grades will do 1 lap & a shorter distance will be available for juniors (if in attendance).

See you all there Sunday 9am sharp!

All grades will be catered for though there will be no distinction between genders so A-E (with WA in C, WB in D, WC in E), though if there are sufficient women & they want to head off separately am happy to do this also.

Come along - the more the merrier :)

Well hope the race goes well, I will miss the race, have to look after one of my sons. :( Hope heaps of the former novices have a go and that the threatened thunder storms stay away.

Times will out shortly but A/B took pretty much the same time to go as return - I think there was a pretty good tail wind on the way home :)

Good fun despite the impending weather. It was much fun with the ME/WC field working together

Thank you all for the ride, and Thank you to the director & marshalls!
