Hi all

There'll be a race bus leaving ANU at 7:30 on Sat Morning to head out to the club champs.

I won't be racing: have got a post World Champs bug to recover from -- like most of the team, by the sounds -- but if no-one puts their hand up to lead the ride I'll at least be there to ride out with you.

Cheers

Don't know if the details were somewhere else... but here they are again

Event Details:
The Uriarra course is one of the most popular in the ACT. Both ACT cycling clubs will hold their Championships together in what is anticipated to be some great racing.

Riders start at Uriarra Homestead and proceed towards Uriarra Crossing before turning (just before the descent into the crossing). They then return past the homestead and on to Condor Creek, where they return with the finish at the Homestead. Total distance per lap is approximately 25 km. The course Map can be found here.

There will be a presentation of medals for each category at the completion of racing.

Grade Distance Laps
Men’s A 75 km 3 laps
Men’s B 75 km 3 laps
Men’s C 50 km 2 laps
Men’s D 50 km 2 laps
Men’s E 50 km 2 laps
Women’s A 50 km 2 laps
Women’s B 50 km 2 laps
Women’s C 50 km 2 laps
Juniors to be determined depending on riders – 10 – 25 kms

Details:
Racing will commence at 9am on Saturday, 31 October 2009.
Registration will open at 8.15am and close prior to the race start.
Entry is $10 (to cover medals, please bring correct change if possible).
For safety, riders must have a current Cycling Australia licence. Day and general licences can be bought at the time of registration, for details and prices see here. To allow time for processing licences, please arrive early.
The marshals are: Christopher Lang, Matthew Robertson, Godfrey Green, Glen English, Stu Shaw and Tim Ainge and James Fisher.

For further information please contact the Race Director: John Warren on 0400 298 733. on or by email john.warren@bigpond.com.

The course is the same as the one used for the Championships last year and is well worth a go.

The club champs have been run this way for the past two years, for both crit and road, V! Each grade has a champion from each club. ACTCF champs are age cat based.

I plan to ride from SFP to save a little in the legs for the race. Leaving at 8 from SFP to catch the race bus on Cotter Rd.

Whatever Lyn and Shridevi got medals for! I think for all, including juniors. My best chance for a Vikings medal might be to jump in A grade.

I'd be out on both counts, now that the Albinator is a Viking. Not sure I could get over the top of a multiple Worlds medalist! Maybe just as well I'm crook ;)

Well that certianly took something out of the legs today - hate to think how I'm going to feel at the end of Bright! Good hard race though and great turnout.

Hope you got that flat fixed OK Simon - what was it? For those that weren't there, Simons bike was lying peacefully on the ground when Simon dared to put his bidon in the cage - the bikes response was to spontaneously release all its air from the front tyre - wierd!!

Yeah, got it fixed. couldn't find anything in it though. Two mystery flats today, one on each wheel. Damn contis! I'm about to put on some new tyres to those wheels for the crits anyway.

We had a good race in B too. I was smashed at the end.

We might have to start up a special gloating thread about how we dropped you on the hills! Though it was impressive that you drove back onto the bunch on the flat - finally living up to that username.

Oh, I didn't realise you were in our grade...

And I'm keeping my sig :) I choose not to go up hills very fast.

I almost was - C grade was catching an undertermined B grade a couple of times. - probably when you were on the front.
