Race Director's Report
by Steven Callahan, VCC
Vikings Cycling Club hosted the 2010 ACT Individual Time Trial Championships on Sunday, 22 August at Stromlo Forest Park.
Mild, sunny conditions welcomed the good turnout of 57 riders. The race started at 10:02:30 and the last rider rolled away at 11:09:00. With the full range of grades racing, it was a challenge to have everyone away in close order.
Another hiccup occurred at the conclusion of the Mens Elite and Masters grades when compiling results from the manually-recorded times. Thank you riders for your patience and understanding of the delay in verifying these results, which are attached.
Most importantly all riders were well-briefed, signage was clear and there were no safety incidents. As always we are obliged to our volunteer marshals who help make these events successful.
The honour roll for this event includes:
Simon Claringbold - start area setup
Vanessa Essam - registration forms
Bill Neate - commissaire and starter
Jim Veal - award presentation and calming influence
Adrian Marshall - registrations and assisted starts
Rob Fisher - registrations and roundabout marshal
Oliver Thearle - Charlie/Bravo marshal
Alex - Charlie/Bravo marshal
Ross - SFP entrance marshal
Kerrie Waide - Alpha marshal
Sam Lewin - Alpha marshal
Jeremy Rhind - timekeeper and comedian
Andrew Thaller - timekeeper and brainiac
Michael Aisbitt - roving checkpoint advisor
I've probably missed a couple of helpers too - great effort, this was a well-supported event!
