This bike was Paul Genders-Dibden’s new road bike and was stolen from their house on Friday 23 October. Paul is an 8 year old competitive cyclist and he had just received this bike as a birthday present. Paul has won a number of criterium races in the junior ranks and won his age group in the past two years in the ACT Schools Championships.

The bike is a donated frame that was re-painted black fading to yellow and has mainly 105 components, with an ultegra rear derailleur, look pedals and a Nightrider computer. The wheel set is matrix with 105 hubs. It is a small 50 cm frame

Paul was going to be riding this bike in the crits for V-mobile this year! It's distinctive and original, painted up by Mal and his son, so keep an eye out.

Crap! Poor little bloke. That's heartless. I'll certainly have my eyes peeled. Maybe we should reroute Norman through Charnwood until it's found?! :-)

Paul rode the crits last week on another bike Mal Cook had hastily put together for him from a donated frame. But the good news is:

From Mal today:
"Just a quick email to let you all know that last weekend Paul Genders-Dibden's bike was reclaimed from the people who stole it. Thankfully thieves are not very clever people because on Saturday afternoon Paul's brother Jericho saw a group of young boys near the local shops and one of them was riding the bike. He ran quickly to my place and we jumped into the car and managed to locate them near the Charnwood shops. I was able to recover the bike from them. Unfortunately they had not treated the bike well and the new paint work was damaged a bit and we had to redo all the cabling, replace bar tape and repair other bits of the bike. But it is almost restored to its original condition and Paul expects to be racing on the bike tomorrow evening. The police expect to lay charges soon.

Paul would like to thank everyone who was looking out for his bike.

Malcolm Cook"

Awesome, I expect the perpetrator to be under the Times7 timing mats for all races tomorrow.
