From its inception in 2005, the Goulburn Workers Club Junior 2 Day Tour has grown in size and reputation. Our aim is to provide competitive but fun racing for all categories, Under 9’s to Under 17’s. Where possible, divisions are split into 2 grades to provide for all abilities. Although the Under 9’s and 11’s race together, separate prizemoney is paid in both divisions and for boys and girls.
The ‘Breadalbane’ course is popular with all riders particularly juniors. It is undoubtedly one of the safest courses with little traffic over its varied terrain. The beauty of the course that we can start races from either end to result in very different races. The Breadalbane end is relatively flat while the Gunning end is hilly, an easy downhill start but a testing uphill finish.
Breadalbane is 25km from Goulburn via the Hume Highway, Gunning is 50km.
The tour starts on Saturday morning with a prologue starting at Breadalbane followed by a road race in the afternoon. Sunday’s start is at Gunning with a time trial in the morning followed by the final stage, a road race. The full programme with distances is as follows;
