Hi All,
The message below is from Emily Walshe who is on the organising committee for the Canberra Tour. They are still short of volunteers. It is extra tough to get people this year due to many other events being on the same weekend.
With just under 2 weeks to go until the 2010 Canberra Tour, we are still
looking
for many volunteers to assist with running this huge event.
Thanks to those people who have already volunteered to help over the
weekend, but we are still short of the numbers needed.
If you are racing, please consider nominating your mum, dad,
girlfriend, neighbour or bike mechanic to help for a couple of hours
on any or all of the tour days: Friday 30 April, Saturday 1st or
Sunday 2nd May 2010.
A-Grade men and women will have a short race on Friday afternoon at
Tharwa. From Saturday all races will start and finish at the Stromlo
Forest Park, Uriarra Road, Weston Creek.

If you are able to assist throughout the course of the weekend we
would love to hear from you. There are a range of roles available,
including:
• grade coordinators;
• lead/support vehicles; and
• marshals (eg KOM, intersections, turn-around points).
As a volunteer, you will see some terrific racing over the weekend and
will be provided with a food/drink voucher + a petrol voucher (as
appropriate). Marshals will also be provided with some training, prior
to the event.
To nominate your interest in a volunteer role, please contact the
relevant person below with details of the day(s) you're available,
your phone number, address and your preferred role:
• David Naylor (vehicle coordinator)
david.naylor@lawcouncil.asn.au
• Emily Walshe (marshal coordinator)
emilywalshe@grapevine.com.au
• Henry Thomson (general coordinator) henry04@tpg.com.au
Further details on the event can be found by visiting the CCC website
or by following the link:

Your assistance will be greatly appreciated by the Canberra cycling
community.
Thanks in advance
