The Dolomites in Italy provide some of the best riding in the world. Not only are the roads superb and quiet, but the views are spectacular.
On our Tour Dolomiti we ride over the passes made famous in the Giro d'Italia, such as the Stelvio, Pordoi, Mortirolo, Fedaia, Gavia and Sella. It is a mix of valleys, climbs and exhilarating descents, with some of the most beautiful towns to be found anywhere.
Places still available 23-29 June 2010
Our Classic French Alps tour (this is the one I did ) will take you over the most famous climbs in cycling, such as the Cormet de Roselend, which featured in the 2009 Tour de France. This climb is one of the highlights on our tour, with our ascent from Beaufort taking you through beautiful winding valleys and forests, emerging near the summit at the barrage.
Other climbs include the Alpe d'Huez with its famous 21 hairpin bends, the Galibier, the Iseran and Joux Plane. As well as more cols, there are numerous valleys and long descents. Just incredible !!!
Places still available 4-10 and 14-20 July 2010
Tour d'Annecy takes you to one of the most beautiful alpine areas in France. The old town of Annecy is described as a mini Venice and mecca for shoppers and sightseers alike. For this reason the area is favoured by non riding partners as it has many and various attractions.
For riders though, it is a spectacular location. The Tour de France is often in this area. The 2009 time trial was held on a 40km circuit around the picturesque lake. But it is the nearby mountains that provide the ultimate fun!
Places still available 1-7 August 2010
Provence is another of the very special areas we operate our tours. Our A Week in Provence tour visits ancient Roman ruins, historic olive groves, and the world famous Chateau Neuf du Pape wine region. The roads of the Provence area feature rolling hills and valleys, making them ideal for riding.
You will ride over stony hills juxtaposed against green vineyards and stunning purple lavender fields. The climb of the Ventoux, pictured right, is definitely the highlight of the week.
Places still available 21-27 August 2010
We keep our groups small, with a maximum number of 14 riders, allowing for a friendlier and therefore more enjoyable experience.
Our on bicycle guides are familiar with the roads and the areas we travel through, and are happy to pass on their wealth of information about the routes.
You will be fully supported by a backup vehicle to fix any puncture or hand out a refreshing drink.
We are a full service travel agency, part of the Travelscene American Express Group, so we can help you take advantage of the specials currently on offer.
With our access to the best fares available we are offering a package of flights and a cycle tour for around $5500*.
Great deals can be arranged with top carriers such as Etihad, Qantas, Singapore Airlines, Emirates and more. We can even arrange a 30kg baggage allowance with some carriers, so you can take your bike and a suitcase! And if you need that Paris accommodation or a car to get you to the Loire valley, we can help with that too.
