Sutton Driver Training Centre

Saturday 24th April 2010, 8am start

This is the final race before the much anticipated Canberra Tour. It
will be run on the 2.5km circuit at the Sutton Driver Training Centre.
For those who aren't familiar with this circuit, it's a sealed
bitumen road that is closed to traffic. It's a great course, safe yet
quiet challenging with it's rises, corners & downhills. Come try
something different :)

The race will be run as a kermesse, it will be time based rather than
a set distance - sort of like a criterium but over a longer & more
challenging circuit.

All grades will be catered for, will the following schedule planned;
8:00am : ME/WC - 20mins + 2 laps
8.30am : MD/WB - 25mins + 2 laps
9:05am : MC/WA - 30mins + 2 laps
9:45am : MB/MA - 40mins + 2 laps
10:35am: Juniors - 10mins + 2 laps

Grades may be combined if insufficient numbers.

Details:

· Racing starts at 8am on Saturday, 24th April 2010.

· Registration will open at 7.15am.

· Entry is $5.

· For safety, riders must have a current (2010) Cycling
Australia licence. Day and general licences can be bought at the time
of registration. Please arrive early to allow time for processing.

The event marshals are: Dale Brede & Ben Henderson.

The Race Directors are Simon Claringbold & Vanessa Essam, we can be
contacted at simon@inforail.com.au or phone 0416 090 388, or
vanessajhamilton@gmail.com or phone 0430 228 766 for further

Best course in Canberra is the ANU Crit we used to run - if I get motivated maybe i'll try to convince V to run another of these over winter.

Having a few probs with marshals - can anyone help? It would be great to have 1-2 helpers. Doesn't need to be the same person - could just help out while you're not racing.

There will be some naming & shaming of those shirking their marshaling duties shortly!

Me too

If you need a one armed assistant I can give you a hand Vanessa. I just need a lift as I really shouldn't drive as I am (although I did drive to have coffee this morning). I think I was rostered to be the race director this weekend anyway.

Thank you Lyn, Ingrid & Graeme for you offers - I do love the vmobile crew, everyone is always eager to help out :)

Graeme I will talk to you during the week. I would be happy to give you a lift to the event if you are happy to go early & stay the whole time? With you & shifts of those riding we should be fine.

Just need someone to help with entries & finishing order.

If we get a few riders to either come and help before their grade, or stay around to help after their grade, that would see us through.

I'm riding out - to be there at 7am to help set up cones and the rego desk. If anyone wants to meet near Manuka - on Canberra Ave outside the BP Service Station at 6:20am C U there.
