View Full Version : Masters update
Vanessa sizzled this morning in the Pursuit with a sub 2:40 time... slashing over 3 seconds over a huge PB from last week. She will be riding off for the Bronze tonight in her 'lucky' Vikings skinsuit.
Jim is riding off for Bronze and Graeme is riding for Gold.

hi Sue - Any racing on the next few nights? I only live 10mins away from there!

There's racing every day (and night) until Sat night. Tomorrow night will be the scratch race finals, which are always great to watch.
You can also watch the action on the net.
Cheers

Jim Veal took out the scratch race tonight - world champ has a nice ring to it!
V and I rode a combined scratch race. Waiting to start my first ever bunch race on the track (only ever done the individual events before) there were a few riders down in the race before us. Not exactly what you want to see just before you roll off. Anyway we survived and finished with all my skin which is the main thing. Am watching the guys aces now and its just nerve wracking! Check it out on http://www.cyclingmasters.com.au/
Thanks for the updates Sue. I've just been checking out the results... like the ones for this age group:
Mens 135yrs & over Team Sprint Qualification

Hey Bean, you've only got to wait about 100 years and you can ride this event...or you can pick two older team mates.
Sprint qualifying today. This is where all the riders do a flying 200m to get a time - then fastest times ride of in pairs, best of 3 races in quarterfinals, semis etc (today and tomorrow) depending on the numbers. So this is the cat and mouse stuff!
V should be up shortly - maybe 9:15 or so. I'm relaxing in the stands and watching today.

Pothole - John Forrest placed 3rd last night in 35-39 scratch race. Yes he is a Vikings member.

Update on my final standings;
Pursuit - 4th, dropping a whopping 5sec off my time from the games last week & now being 7sec off the new world record(set by Michelle Crawford this week after breaking it at the games last week - amazing girl). I have now dropped 15sec since nationals in April!
Points - silver medal (yeah) in my 1st pts race. Was fun once I got over my nerves...
Track is loads of fun & the MACT/Vikings team are amazing.
Extra placings;
Terry Moore - bronze in her pts race (her 1st too)
Graeme Allbon - gold in pursuit & points.
Mark Harris - silver in points
Jim Veal - I seem to have lost count on his medals...silver in pursuit, gold in scratch...
That's just those that come to mind now...was a great meet.
