Some would say conditions were perfect today for cracking an amazing TT time... however this would not be very well received by those who battled the intense winds of the west this morning. With local and inter-state events on, and wind socks on high alert the event still attracted 22 of the finest competitors, all looking to battle the head wind on the way to say hello to the sisters and then enjoy the ride home.

Congratulations is in order for Mark Croonen who proved he wasn’t there to bake cookies as he posted the fastest time of 33:16 – pretty darn quick considering the conditions. Another Congratulations to Lee Sheather who posted the fastest female time of 38:28 – which is not far off her recent times (non-wind days) showing her good form leading into the CT. Other note worthy times includes Rob Summers who ripped up D-grade in a time of 36:04. Mark Steveson and Jason Mahoney also had good days in the saddle, both managing to shave time off their results 2 weeks ago. A special note must also be given to club captain Simon Niemeyer who stepped up for 34minutes of intense pain on his birthday – couldn’t imagine a better way to spend it....:rolleyes2: Happy Birthday

Huge thanks to my marshals that stepped in at the last minute – Michael M and Julz C and Mark Stevo for hauling out the trailer and helping the virgin race director big time. Also thanks to all competitors that fronted up early on a Sunday morning only to be greeted with one of the fiercest head winds you will likely encounter on the journey out to the crossing.

Remember that the final TT of the 3 race series is in a few weeks time – 9/5/2010. There will be prizes for most improved and best time etc... With it only a week after the Canberra Tour people should be in tip top lean condition.
If there are any queries on timing please post here or send a mail to a.lake87@hotmail.com

You're a tard Lake, you know full well I wasn't there. As for Young, not much of a ticker if you can't complete a TT my friend.

haha, well played Lake. Alas I was enjoying some headwinds out Bathurst way. Taylor, at least I can stay on the Bathurst Crit track.

Massive thanks to the marshalls who stepped in late and kudos to Andrew for stepping up to RD his first race!

I'll post a combined listing of the two races in the main thread but at this stage Michael Tolhurst and Bec Doolan are still holding the fastest times for the series. Mark Croonen though is looming as a definite threat with a very sharp time in what sounds like testing conditions. Race #3 should be very interesting!
