Well it's all over and done.
The team I was in "No Rest 4 the Wicked" lived up to it's name. Michael Hanslip started vomiting during his 2nd lap. He also started cramping when he did finish the lap. He visited the First Aid people on site and eventually they got him to Woden Hospital. He was taxied home on Sunday. So the remaining 3 did what we could. I think it was 19laps at the end. I was shattered after my 5th lap so I tried to go to sleep all dusty as the hot showers had been turned off.
Katherine Huckstep's team of 6 young females called "Cyclomegafastatron" won.
I was passed by someone in a MACT kit at some stage.
It was a good weekend overall. Excellent company, great food, $5 Goat Beers on Sunday and some awesome swag (which we didn't get).

I think it was a combination of salami sandwiches, it was hot and his son brought home some gastric bug from pre-school.
He should be fine in a few days.
Well done Daz and good work Kate & the girls. Awesome!

I am cut up that they didn't call it SuperMegaAwesomaTron.
Bad luck for the Doc.
I heard a rumour that some one legged crazy man was out zooming around the course as well - you wouldn't happen to know him would you Milto ;-)
If you didn't say one-legged I would have assumed you meant Daz.

Michael did an awesome job. Professional team kit. Professional team compound. Top support crew. And then went soft (like I wished we had) in a mixed 6! :jealous:
I did see him wandering out for a night lap whilst I was waiting to go. His riding style is unmistakable. Give him a big up for doing that last rocky downhill where I watched 2 riders create huge clouds of dust. One after a front tyre blowout and the other through .... ????
Apparently there was also a front tooth knocked out somewhere on the course.
You'd think it was a SS race!
Best sticker I saw all weekend was "one less fixie"
Cutest rider was the lingerie lap by a girl. Alan Vogt (one of the organisers) also did a speedo's night lap but luckily I didn't see that one.

The Giant/DRAPAC men's team won with 27 laps!
The results aren't up yet but that figure and the 10,500 laps traveled by competitors is fantastic. The fact that the track wasn't totally trashed is also a tribute to the trail fairies.

Results are up (http://www.mont24.com.au/race/?IntCatId=3&IntContId=7754)
Just like last year I will make a New Years resolution to train for this event or the Terra Australis if I can find a partner.
from MH "Like I asked before, what do we need to do in order to have a drama-free 24? Every time it is something!"
I think this is the forth 24 in a row we have lost someone from the team either just before or during the event. Maybe next time?

I saw her from afar and even without glasses that would be a big negative.

Daz Delivers.
That's a big 10-4 on the "Not a Dude" call. Sparky's never been the same since an incident on his high school trip to Thailand scarred him for life.

Daz, would have been me that passed you in MACT regalia - I did a double night lap as a last minute stand-in for someone that rang in sick.
