There were murmurings of a permitted ride of doom to Corin tomorrow morning. 7am at ANU.
There will be a ~B grade gentlemen's group doing it slowly - Dan and co.
Will there be a slower group?
Not me - resting up for worlds track
Could we roll all the way to the dam tomorrow? I'd like to check out the scenery. 2nd group could turn around at the forest and we'll catch up with them along the way back?

Yep. It might even have water in it. Is Gary Rolfe coming? He posted something on the Bilbys list, but I didn't know if that was with us or independent.
I thought some of those just getting back into riding (or those new), like Mer and Lynds, could form a group and skip the main climb. Then we could meet back at Yarralumla bakery or something.

I'd love to do this, have actually been thinking I'd like to head back out to Corrin just to check out how much water is in the dam. Sadly have to give it a miss in prep for worlds. After next week I will have no such excuse :0
Erica our Nutritionist suggested a wholefood organic post ride feed at As Nature Intended.
p.s. we're riding down South first then back by Cotter right?

You're both soft! V-Mobile will be doing Corin repeats as taper the day before Bright starts. As i always say to Jamie, "train smart, race dumb".

Sorry Simon, but Erica our Nutritionist has insisted on a wholefood organic post ride feed at As Nature Intended.
Do they have beer?
p.s. we're riding down South first then back by Cotter right?
Whatever's good.

I'm willing to bet a bag of pooper valves this ride isn't slow.
I may be interested if I can boot this lurgy. I'm hoping it's just a 24 hr thing. When and where? If I can make it then I could meet you somewhere down my way.

Guys,
For us Newbies, what does P.R.O.D. stand for or maybe I don't want to know???:)

Nothing important (just like Tom Baker) G-Dawg...
"permitted ride of doom"

"permitted ride of doom"
Which is the antithesis of the other Saturday morning ride aka the forbidden ride of doom (FROD).

I hope to make it out mechanical permitting. Jamie I don't know what you are talking about it will be a E2 ride so of course it will be slow - just one or two beats below threshold for 4 hours.
Not just any E2 pace. Dan's E2 pace.

yes, one or two beats below a hummingbirds threshold. If you see Avi's crushed spirit about half way up Corin near the 10k to go sign, kindly fold it up and bring it home.

Gary Rolfe says:
"Hi All,
I am going to ride to corin tomorrow and will pass by the Uni at 7am if anyone is keen to join me. I need to be back for novice coaching at 1.45pm.

Avi beat me up the hill climb after the TGA sprint.
I was very sad.

Notice I didn't say which threshold. Heart attack or LT? Choose your poison.

Might be easier if the people who didn't beat Boz up the hill raised their hands.

Hi
Anyone interested in a ride to Corin with Captain Slow?:) I mean P.R.O.D. as in a Pleasant Ride of Doom, by pleasant I mean at Novice pace :p.
I am having a crack at Fitz's and thought a ride to Corin and back would be a good training ride and company would be great, otherwise I will just have to satisfy myself with cheering on the real P.R.O.D. crew as they storm past me on their way back to Canberra.
Any takers???:):)

Guys, missed you on the road :(, I just noticed on one of the posts that I went the opposite way round. I went out via Uriarra and then down to cotter and up pierces creek then went to Corin and back via Point Hutt.
Well I will never use pleasant and Corin in the same sentence again. Well it was fun rolling down the hill coming back but no fun for the savage man going up. I was passed by a lady on a fixed hub and a couple of speeding wombats.
The weather was not too bad until it went a bit chilly up near Corin.

Yeah, Corin turning cold sucked. Good ride though.
Why do my arms feel more sore than my legs? =[

I can get up Corin but paint drys faster than me hillclimbing :D. I joined VCC late last year and just missed the novice program then. I have got some experience with hills, I did the Alpine Classic last year (130km one) and also had a crack at a few longer Audax rides as well.
You will see why I am a novice tomorrow at the Kermesse and later this month when I have a crack at the crits and ITTs.;)

Thanks for the idea, I'll give it a try tomorrow, but my biggest problem is finding someone young enough that I can keep up with. Any preschoolers riding tomorrow? :D
